  • Welcome to my website. This page is a central online source for all my various writings and projects.

Who am I? My name is Hovannes Abramyan. In the fall I'll be a graduate student in political science at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I am currently a policy fellow in business and economic studies at the Pacific Research Institute for Public Policy in San Francisco, CA.

I received my B.A. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2005. At UC Berkeley, I focused my studies on immigrant assimilation in the United States by primarily hispanic immigrants.

After studying at UC Berkeley, I began working for the Pacific Research Institute (PRI) in San Francisco. At PRI, my primary emphasis was in civil justice reform. I co-authored two studies, The U.S. Tort Liability Index: 2006 Report and Jackpot Justice: The True Cost of America's Tort System, and a number of op-eds on this topic. I also dabbled into other areas, including: economic freedom, affordable housing, and government-mandated employer-provided benefits.

My interests include examining the formation of identities and their impact on societies.

Feel free to browse my writings and learn more about my research interests.

Also, make sure to learn more about presidential hopeful Congressman Ron Paul. I am backing Congressman Paul in the Republican primary and will be voting for him in the general election regardless of whether he wins the party nomination.
